Attending and presenting at the National Seminar on Telepractice in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology, hosted by the All India Institute of Speech and Hearing (AIISH), Mysuru, on February 5–6, 2026, was an incredibly meaningful and professionally enriching experience. As a clinician deeply invested in integrating technology with therapeutic practice, this opportunity allowed me to share our work, engage with fellow professionals, and contribute to important discussions on the future of telepractice in communication sciences.

AIISH is widely respected for its academic excellence, clinical rigor, and pioneering contributions to speech and hearing sciences. Being part of a national platform organized by such a prestigious institution was both an honor and a responsibility. The seminar brought together clinicians, researchers, academicians, and students from across India, all working toward a common goal—improving access, efficiency, and therapy outcomes through telepractice and digital innovation. AIISH’s strong emphasis on evidence-based practice made the discussions around measurable therapy outcomes especially relevant to our work.

My Presentation: Therapy Advancements through Tech-Enabled Interventions

As the Senior Subject Specialist, I presented a session titled:

“Therapy Advancements through Tech-Enabled Interventions: Case Studies and Outcomes-Based Evidence.”

During this 30-minute session, I demonstrated how structured digital platforms, therapy software, and assistive hardware can significantly enhance therapy delivery, improve patient engagement, and provide objective, measurable outcomes.

Drawing from real clinical case studies, I explained how technology-enabled interventions helped improve therapy efficiency, patient participation, and continuity of care across both in-person sessions and telepractice settings. A key focus of the presentation was showing how clinicians can systematically track progress, personalize therapy plans, and make data-driven clinical decisions when digital tools are integrated into everyday practice.

The session was followed by an engaging discussion where participants raised thoughtful questions about clinical effectiveness, implementation in institutional settings, usability, and outcome measurement.

Through both clinical practice and digital therapy implementation, I have witnessed how technology can bridge gaps, improve therapy consistency, and empower clinicians with objective data for decision-making.

This prestigious annual conference is widely regarded as one of the most influential gatherings for speech and hearing professionals in India. It provided attendees with opportunities to engage in scientific discussions, attend keynote sessions, participate in workshops and panel discussions, and explore emerging technologies shaping the future of rehabilitation and clinical practice.

Addressing this need, the National Workshop on “Emerging Trends in Multidisciplinary Evidence-Based Intervention of Neurodiverse Population”, held on 18–19 December 2025 at AIISH, Mysuru, brought together clinicians, students, and professionals from allied disciplines for two days of immersive learning and dialogue.

With close to 60 participants, the workshop created a collaborative space to explore emerging clinical practices, technological innovations, and interdisciplinary perspectives shaping the future of neurodiverse care.

The workshop began with sessions that strengthened the theoretical and clinical foundation of neurodiverse intervention. On May 11, 2025, I had the opportunity to attend and actively contribute to the ISHA ‘Connect & Collaborate‘ Gujarat ASLPs Private Practitioners Workshop, held at the Government Spine Institute, Civil Hospital Campus in Ahmedabad. With over 80 enthusiastic participants, the event created a vibrant platform for learning, collaboration, and growth among audiologists and speech-language pathologists.

The workshop featured a diverse agenda of clinically enriching sessions delivered by highly respected professionals in our field. I attended several of these sessions, each offering valuable insights:

  • Dr. Rupali Mathur delivered a comprehensive session on “Aphasia: Overview & Differential Diagnosis,” which deepened our understanding of diagnostic clarity and treatment planning.
  • Mr. Amit Anand conducted a session on “Basics of Audiology,” which provided a helpful refresher and practical insights for daily clinical application.
  • Dr. Chandrakant Vishwakarma shared key approaches in “Practical Vertigo Management,” shedding light on balance disorders that we often encounter but rarely explore in depth.

Each session not only expanded my clinical knowledge but also reinforced the importance of continuous professional development.

Representing XceptionalLEARNING, I was honored to co-present the session on “Integration of Technology for Sustainable Clinical Practice”. Ms. Rakshitha initiated the talk with a thought-provoking overview on the necessity of digital integration in therapy settings. The event also included engaging segments like the “Meet, Greet & Empower” networking session, a direct interaction with Gujarat’s private practitioners, and concluding with certification and appreciation for all contributors.

Overall, the Gujarat ASLPs workshop was an inspiring and empowering experience. It reaffirmed my belief in the value of innovation, community learning, and the role that platforms like XceptionalLEARNING can play in transforming therapy practice. I returned from the event not just with new knowledge, but with renewed motivation to contribute to the future of speech and hearing care—one digital step at a time.

The Sadgamaya 2025 exhibition, held in Ponkunnam from January 23rd to 26th, served as a powerful testament to the potential of children with special needs and a crucial reminder of the transformative impact of early intervention. The event united a diverse community of students, special education teachers, health experts, and distinguished guests, all driven by a shared commitment to fostering a more inclusive society.

Daniel’s Journey: A Narrative of Understanding

Sadgamaya 2025 adopted a unique and compelling narrative approach, centering the exhibition around the character of “Daniel.” By following Daniel’s journey, visitors gained invaluable insights into various therapeutic strategies and their practical applications in real-life scenarios. A central hub provided a comprehensive overview of these therapeutic elements, serving as a starting point for exploring specialized departments and deepening their understanding.

Collaboration and Knowledge Exchange: Experts in Dialogue

The exhibition acted as a dynamic platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration. Discussions revolved around critical topics such as early childhood development, the significance of early intervention, and the vital role of supportive family structures. A kindergarten teacher’s observations about Daniel highlighted the crucial role of educators in identifying developmental concerns and facilitating referrals to specialized centers. A Psychiatric Social Worker further illuminated the crucial support systems and concessions available for children with special needs and their families, emphasizing the essential work of social workers within early intervention centers.

Innovation in Therapy: Technology and Best Practices

Sadgamaya 2025 showcased cutting-edge therapeutic practices across various disciplines:

  • Behavioral Therapy: The Behavioral Therapy room focused on early cognitive milestones and behavior functions, incorporating interactive activities to enhance attention and localization skills. A key highlight was the exploration of technology’s role in behavior therapy, emphasizing responsible digital device usage and the potential of tools like the VergeTAB to illustrate concepts such as socialization and emotional regulation.
  • Speech Language Pathology: The Speech Language Pathology room explored developmental milestones for speech sounds, identified signs of hearing loss in infants, and demonstrated the use of technology in both traditional and distance therapy.
  • Physiotherapy: Attendees were introduced to a variety of equipment, including balance boards, ankle exercise tools, and weight cuffs. Discussions revolved around recognizing the need for pediatric physiotherapy and outlining the pathway for intervention, emphasizing the importance of early assessment and treatment.
  • Special Education: The Special Education room focused on developmental milestones and the special education process. Specialists provided an overview of IQ classifications and their characteristics, along with effective intervention strategies. A notable highlight was the discussion on the advantages of using digital activity books to enhance learning experiences for children with special needs.
  • Occupational Therapy: The Occupational Therapy room clarified the differences between occupational therapy and physiotherapy, delving into milestones related to gross motor skills, fine motor skills, and Activities of Daily Living (ADLs). Attendees showed keen interest in the various tools and equipment utilized in occupational therapy, recognizing their importance in facilitating skill development.
  • Sensory Therapy: Insights into the eight senses and their critical role in a child’s development were shared in the Sensory Therapy room. This session underscored how sensory experiences contribute to overall growth and learning.
  • Group Therapy: The Group Therapy room emphasized the value of collaborative therapeutic activities for children with special needs, particularly highlighting the essential role of parents in the therapeutic process. This approach promotes a supportive environment that can significantly enhance the effectiveness of therapy.

Over four days, the event drew a diverse audience, from school children and educators to prominent community leaders and government officials, demonstrating a shared commitment to supporting children with special needs.

Day 1: Laying the Foundation for Understanding

The exhibition opened with a strong turnout of schoolchildren, teachers, and participants. These attendees engaged deeply with the exhibits, spending considerable time in each room to gain a comprehensive understanding of early intervention centers and the resources available for children facing developmental challenges. This initial engagement laid a crucial foundation for broader community understanding and support.

Day 2: A Visit of Distinction and Endorsement

Day 2 brought significant attention to Sadgamaya 2025 with a visit from Honorable Kerala Legislative Assembly Member, Mr. Chandy Oommen. His active engagement with therapists underscored the importance of digitalization in enhancing therapeutic practices, signaling a growing recognition of technology’s role in the field. The day also saw positive feedback from Mr. V.P. Joy, Senior Executive Vice President at Reliance Limited, who commended the innovative approaches showcased. Further bolstering the event’s profile, distinguished guests including Susant Nair, CEO of InfoPark, Fr. Mar Jose Pullickal, Principal of St. Dominic’s College Kanjirappally, and Fr. Sebastian Vaniyapurackal, Bishop of the Syro-Malabar Catholic Church, offered encouraging remarks, highlighting the significance of the initiatives presented.

Day 3: Momentum Builds with Continued Engagement

Day 3 maintained the momentum with visits from Jyothi Nilayam Special School, Carmel College Special School, and Minister of Irrigation Mr. Roshy Augustine. Representatives from MMT Hospital and SCJC Sisters also joined, further demonstrating the breadth of community interest. These attendees explored the new therapeutic strategies on display, reinforcing the ongoing commitment to improving support systems for children with special needs.

Day 4: A Fitting Conclusion and Celebration of Collaboration

The positive feedback received from such esteemed personalities throughout the event underscores the importance of these initiatives in creating a truly inclusive environment for children with developmental challenges.
